PJ’s Canvas was created by Pam and Jay in 1978 originally as a sail-making business at the Napa Valley Marina. By the early 1990s, their primary focus had shifted from sails to awnings built for a wide variety of commercial, residential and industrial applications. Throughout its 40 years in business, PJ’s Canvas has specialized in creating innovative design solutions for its clients. Above all, PJ’s Canvas believes that it can work with its clients to satisfy their needs, no matter how unconventional or unique. PJ’s Canvas has an extensive clientele base around the Bay Area including many premier restaurants, hotels and wineries; see our portfolio for a small sampling of jobs that PJ’s Canvas has done.
When a client approaches PJ’s Canvas with an interest in an awning, he or she is individually met with to clarify the objectives and needs of the project. As part of this process, an appointment and estimate is scheduled at the client’s place of residence or business. PJ’s Canvas uses its extensive design experience to create a custom solution.
Once an awning design is chosen, PJ’s Canvas drafts a proposal outlining the costs, materials and timeline of completion, which is faxed, emailed, or mailed to the client. Computer-generated drawings and graphic mock-ups can be provided for the purpose of permit applications for a reasonable fee.
